The project started with the investigation of a technique: I simplified the industrial process of injection moulding into a process where foam expands between two layers of textile. Later I applied the technique to two product applications, suited for noways every changing office spaces.
„Office Pieces“ are individual panels which can be taken from the wall and used as temporary seating cushions. From passive to active, the sculptural and functional merge by adding a dynamic layer to more individual office environments.
„Office Pieces“ is the winner of the FSK innovation award 2016.
„Foam Wall“ is based on the idea of a one module dividing system, which can be adjusted to different working situations. The system transforms from different stages and acts like a three-dimensional object. It becomes a piece of furniture as well as an acoustic element with architectural character to divide areas in open space offices. By winning the FSK innovation award in 2016 I collaborated with two industrial partners, such as Covestro and Febrik. Covestro is the german producer for polyurethanes and Febrik is a dutch knitting producer.
Initiated by the University of Art and Design, Offenbach. In collaboration with Febrik and Covestro.
