Plane to Product
Collaboration
2016
The dutch airline „KLM“ asked students from the „Man and Identity“ department to come up with product ideas to reuse materials of their Boeing-747 airplane. The materials I was interested to work with were seating textiles as well as lightweight aluminium sheets.
The collection of items I suggested provides a set of tools which can be used during your stay on board. Laminating the textiles with a silicone layer and cutting and anodizing the aluminium parts, the materials can be further processed into lasercutted and waterjetcutted accessories like passport cases, pencils and mirrors.
